October 7: Kevin Hamilton

ImageContinuing our strand of guest appearances by artistic and curatorial researchers, on October 7 at 5 P.M. the artist and scholar Kevin Hamilton will give a guest lecture on his practice under title “Artist as Researcher : the role of materiality in dialogic approaches to art.” Kevin Hamilton is an Associate Professor of New Media and Dean’s Fellow for Research at the University of Illinois. Working largely in collaborative and cross-disciplinary settings, Kevin produces artworks, archives, and scholarship on such subjects as place and memory, history of technology, and state-mediated violence. Recent work has included research and production on cybernetics, race, and the role of film in America’s rise to nuclear power.
